Edited by: Maya Rkell on 25/01/2006 17:34:29 You are not allowed to require the HDD. So unworkable.
PS, there's been quite a few console MMO's. Look up EQOA and PSO.

Edited by: Maya Rkell on 25/01/2006 17:53:47 Better, I've seen the TRC's. (Unless they changed it since about a week ago)
The hard disk is very useful for a number of reasons, but you cannot REQUIRE it. As usual, this can of course be set aside for enough cash, but CCP are hardly rolling in it.
Rells, EVERY idea of yours is bad/unviable. Join Derisor in that. Wow, 2 of em :/

OK maya. Its clear that you know more than the MANAGER of the XBox platform, the lead architect, all of the F\inal Fantasy developers and everyone else involved in the XBox platform including those that actually own the system and use it.

Ya ... well I think this qualifies her for the BLOCK list. Have a nice life and have fun knownign everything. Us mere mortals will do things like ask the people that make the bloody system.
No, Rells, I can read their own DOCUMENTATION stating that. There is, on re-reading, a clause about negociation for MMO's on that point.
Maybe you should get past the glittering press releases, eh? And stop claiming you had lunch with so and so and actually, y'know, read the docs?
I still think it's a bad idea.

Originally by: Grimpak Seleene, I just had a shiver on my spine when I thought of EVE in a 360. Nevermind it being sharded.
Given the Chinese shard, that response's just FUNNY.

*Bzzt*
Eve-China,Serenity.
Oh, and there are plenty of houses out there who might well be capeable of doing it. I'd estimate 4-6 months.
But it'd be expensive as heck.

They've allready thrown that vision away with Eve-China.
The barrier is cost-effectivenes, plain and simple.

I suppose I misspoke. The vision in quesion was multiple sharding, in which case EVE-China doesn't break anything - it's simply a completely different cluster.
Anyway, moving along...
If it looks like a second cluster, talks like a second cluster and moves like a second cluster, then it IS a second cluster.
I even understand WHY CCP are doing it. But it DOES throw away a guiding principle, regardless.

Edited by: Maya Rkell on 26/01/2006 19:19:02 Winter,
Bluntly you're just acting (like a lot of people) like you're in denial of a clear and present fact simply because you don't want to think that business descisions have lead CCP to have multiple servers.
Denial don't change the truth.
No matter what the "purpose", the plan is now for 2 clusters. From there, 3 is a far smaller step.

I'm someone different than Rells. I am new to Eve and browse through the forums to learn more about the game and how to play it. The last time I checked there was nothing wrong with posting my opinion. Do you own an Xbox 360? I do! What is wrong with wanting to expand the Eve universe to other pps?
I don't believe you. Period. No matter what, I and quite a few others will now consider you Rell's alt. Shrug.
